In HAPCO Music Foundation’s ongoing partnership with Dana Rice Music in Atlanta, we are sponsoring piano lessons for Sarai this quarter. The fifth grader enjoys reading, cooking, making arts and crafts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She describes herself as “a curious, young girl” and open to trying new things. She is a classic “Tink” and is always tinkering with new ideas and creations. Sarai wants to be a computer programmer/application software developer who “creates apps that help make people’s lives better.”
Sarai is also very caring. Her concern for other prompted her to sew masks for adults and children to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Her current goal is to make enough masks to give to her classmates when they return to in-person learning.
Sarai listens to a wide range of music genres. She loves to attend live musicals; her favorites are Wicked and Hamilton. At the age of two, she attended her first symphony and during warm up she named most of the instruments based on their sound. She started to learn to play the piano at six years old and is trying to figure out which instrument she will learn next.
HAPCO has partnered with Dana Rice Music [www.danaricemusic.com] in Atlanta to provide private lessons to students. Dana Rice teaches piano and voice for ages four to adult. She focuses on making learning fun, relevant and engaging while teaching critical life skills including self-discipline, focus, tenacity and communication. Infused throughout her programs are the key concepts that talent is a responsibility and that an individual’s art makes them a business. Rice is a singer/songwriter who delivers velvet vocals over soulful vibes with heart-hitting lyrics.
HAPCO is proud to help forward Sarai’s musical goals. For further information about vocal and piano training scholarships in Atlanta, please contact HAPCO.
