Jazz Band Winter Clinic 2021

Join us at our free, non-competitive jazz clinic for middle and high school band students and band directors. Learn techniques of some of the legendary big bands, jazz theory, operating a home recording station. Master classes for trumpet, trombones, saxes, bass, guitar, piano and drums as well as improv.
This year’s Winter Jazz Band Clinic will be online via Zoom. Lead Clinician Scott Wilson and his team will conduct group and breakout sessions to provide specialized education in small groups. Master Classes will be segmented into beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels.

REGISTRATION
- This free clinic is open to 7th-12th grade students
- Maximum 13 jazz bands (middle and high school)
- Band Directors: Register once for your entire band. Clinic session Zoom links will be sent to you for you to distribute to your students.
- Individual Students: Register. Clinic session Zoom links will be sent to you.
HAPCO programs give young people real-world experience and education from professionals they can relate to. We are building futures through music and arts education in Florida, Georgia and Texas. HAPCO provides clinics, camps, classes, an instrument donation program and LIVE performances.

The Basics of Operating a Home Recording Station

- During the pandemic, musicians have been greatly served by learning some recording software, understanding how to create basic tracks, how to balance an EQ, Compressor, Reverb, what microphones fit your budget, microphone placement, etc.
