Jacob Hardy is a freelance trombonist in Central Florida. He completed his masters from the University of Florida in Bass Trombone Performance in the spring of 2020. His undergraduate work was completed at Eastern Illinois University in Trombone Performance – Jazz Studies in 2018.
During his time at UF, he performed with the Wind Symphony, University Orchestra, Big Band, Graduate Brass Quintet, New Music Ensemble, UF Chamber Winds, Student Brass Ensemble, UF International Brass Festival Faculty Ensemble, and the UF Trumpet Ensemble. In addition to his performance time, Hardy also coordinated and conducted the UF Trombone Choir, helped coordinate weekly convocations, and worked with the Gator Marching Band Trombone Section.
Outside of school, Hardy is a member of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra as Second Trombone and has performed with the Gainesville Orchestra as a Principle and Bass Trombone. He has also made guest appearances at The Florida Orchestra and Jacksonville Symphony as Bass Trombone. He also has been a featured artist during the Monday night Hippodrome Jazz Series and Jazz at the Keys.
