Congratulations, Bernie Hendricks, on being named President-elect of the Florida Bandmasters Association. We appreciate all you do for students at our clinics and camps; at Ocoee High School; and now for students state-wide!
As Director of Bands at Ocoee High School, Bernie has partnered with HAPCO in the curriculum development and hosting of our summer band camp, winter clinic and numerous other clinics. He has directed Orange County middle and high school bands for over 20 years at Ocoee High School and Robinswood Middle School. He is chairman of the Florida Music Education Association Multicultural Network. He has presented numerous workshops and clinics addressing a wide variety of music education topics at the district and state levels.
An active member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, he has previously served as district secretary, treasurer and marching band assessment chair. He has also served on the Orange County fine arts curriculum team. He was named Teacher of the Year at Ocoee High School in 2007 and at Robinswood in 2000. He was recognized by School Band & Orchestra Magazine as the Florida representative for their 50 Most Influential Directors in 2007.
