In Tallahassee, Schelvin Robinson worked with Godby High School band’s trumpet players on Oct 17. Thanks to Band Director Kaomi Lloyd for coordinating this master class into her education program.
Robinson helped students develop their fundamental skills including breathing, posture, tone, embouchure and articulation. He also gave pointers on how to play with confidence in a band setting. The students received exercises and practice strategies they can use in rehearsals and at home.
Robinson is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Florida State University, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Music in Trumpet Performance with a certificate in Arts Administration and College Teaching. He received the McKnight Doctoral and Dissertation Fellowship (2025–2026).
