We’re proud to have helped Josiah Hall achieve his Music Performance degree from Stetson University. HAPCO provided him with a scholarship to help cover final fees prior to graduation. He also earned a minor in Religious Studies.
He will be auditioning for the US Army Band this month. This summer, he will be an educator at band camps at Jones High School and Dr. Phillips High School.
Josiah is a Jones High School grad, and band program alum under Naomi J. Nelson, Grammy-nominated music educator and the school’s director of bands,
An Orlando native, Josiah has been praised for his sensitivity and ability to communicate music into a spectrum of colors. He is highly active in exploring different timbres of the clarinet and an active supporter of contemporary music as well as interpreting timeless classics.
Driving his pay-it-forward attitude is his desire to “share my gifts to others and help people realize the power of music.”
During college, he served as principal clarinetist for Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra. In 2023, he was selected to perform in the Annual Stetson University Carnegie Hall recital in New York of 2024. He served under SGA as a School of Music Senator, served under the Dean of Music as a part of the Student Advisory Council and served many smaller leadership roles on campus.
Voice professor Tony Offerle defined Josiah’s playing as “beautiful control of the instrument, original interpretations and unique sense of line.” He has performed in master classes with Joshua Gardner, Stefanie Gardner, Eric Mandat, Keith Koons and Michael Norsworthy.
