LeNard Rutledge will entertain guests with his elegant and passionate jazz vocals at Madison Middle School’s Jazz on the Ranch on March 14 from 5:30-7:30 pm. He will be joined by other Miami jazz greats and student performers. It will be an evening of free food, live music and fun for all ages. LeNard Rutledge has taught percussion master classes at Madison Middle School as a HAPCO Clinician. His vocals combine a classy elegance with a raw passion. He was the featured vocalist with the famed Melton Mustafa Orchestra for seven years. A Miami native, he began his music career as a percussionist, playing in the marching and concert band at Miami Central Senior High. He performed professionally while attending Saint Augustine’s University. He has shared the stage with artists including Wycliffe Gordon, Kenny Drew Jr., Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kirk Whalum, Marion Meadows and George Duke.
