Join us at our free, non-competitive jazz clinic for middle and high school bands and individual students.
Jazz band directors and students will learn from professional clinicians who emphasize individual creativity, team spirit and real-world experience. Includes clinician critique of performances, workshops and master classes. Clinicians will cover topics including improv; the music industry business; industry careers; university-level music program options and applications; working as a professional performer; vocal performance; and music theory.
Open to middle and high school jazz students. Individual students can attend without their school jazz band. Lunch provided. The event will adhere to all CDC pandemic guidelines current at the time of the event.
The clinic wraps up with the HAPCO Winter Jazz Concert in the Ocoee High School theater from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. UCF’s Flying Horse Big Band and the Ocoee High School Jazz Band will perform.
The Concert is free to attend and open to the public. Band Directors and students attending the clinic are encouraged to invite their families and friends.
