Arch Insurance Group Donates Electric Guitars to Support Student Musicians Through HAPCO

Music students at two Florida schools are gaining new opportunities to learn, create and grow thanks to a donation of electric guitars from Arch Insurance Group to HAPCO.

As part of Arch’s Charity Guitar Build program, team members worked together to build nine brand-new electric guitars for students in need. The guitars were presented to HAPCO in January and distributed to student music programs where access to instruments can make a meaningful difference.

Hernando eSchool

One of the donated guitars was presented to the music program at Hernando eSchool by HAPCO Board Member Russell T. Myers.

“We here at HAPCO are truly excited to hear that you are encouraging students to discover their voices through music, fostering self-confidence,” Myers said.

The school’s elementary music program, directed by Carol Ballard, serves students eager to explore music but with limited access to instruments. Ballard explained that classes often include 24 to 30 students sharing just a handful of guitars, leaving many students waiting weeks for meaningful practice time.

For her students, music is more than learning notes and chords. It is a creative outlet, a confidence-builder and a place where students feel seen and heard. The addition of another electric guitar gives more students the opportunity to participate, experiment and discover new talents through hands-on experience.

Evans High School

Several guitars were also provided to student musicians at Evans High School so they can practice at home – an opportunity many of their families could not otherwise afford.

Having access to an instrument outside the classroom allows students to spend more time developing their skills, experimenting with different musical styles and building confidence through independent practice. Beyond musicianship, the experience encourages creativity, discipline and collaboration while helping students connect with peers, mentors and broader musical communities.

The effort was coordinated by Music Teacher Osvaldo Quezada and Director of Bands Mario Ford, who helped identify students who would benefit most from the donations.

Through the partnership between Arch Insurance Group and HAPCO, these instruments are doing more than making music possible – they are helping students discover confidence, connection and new possibilities for their futures.
