Pablo Duque, an up-and-coming saxophonist and composer in Jacksonville, Florida, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Florida, set to graduate in Spring 2024. His musical journey includes membership in UNF’s Jazz Ensemble 2 and the prestigious JE1, garnering acclaim nationally. Duque, a recipient of scholarships from the Bob Washington Scholarship Foundation and the Wayne Barlow Scholarship, has performed with renowned musicians and groups, both in and out of academia. Notable figures include Joel Frahm, Michael Mossman, Ulysses Owens, Jr., Steven Feifke, Teddy Adams, Eric Jones, and many more. He was also selected as a semifinalist for the Noth American Saxophone Alliance’s jazz Competition. Post-graduation, Duque plans to relocate to New York for a master’s degree, aspiring to expand his network and create innovative music. Meanwhile, he primarily freelances in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas, offers private music lessons, and actively composes for various projects, embodying the spirit of a rising musical talent.
