Nathan Mitchell is a contemporary jazz/soul composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. In 2023, he received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden for his 25 plus years of contributions and community service towards music education, advocacy and the fine arts.
One of the most respected musical storytellers in the contemporary jazz industry, he is a Trippin ’N’ Rhythm artist; TnR is the #1 Billboard smooth jazz label. A GRAMMY nominated artist, he is known for his electric showmanship, unique talents, and enthusiastic energy.

“100% Cotton” from his debut TnR release “It’s My Time” hit #1 on the Billboard charts. This song was written as a tribute to his cousin with a cause to bring attention toward kidney disease awareness.
Nathan’s musical fingerprint was first marked in 2017 with his national debut release, “Smooth Groove.” From this musical work, two of his songs accomplished great success on mainstream media: “Inspiration,” (charting at #22 on Billboard) and “Smooth Groove” (charting at #20 on Billboard).
His second musical release, “Soulmate,” marked his first NAACP Image Award Nomination in 2020. From this release, his hit single “Swing City” accumulated over one million streams on Spotify within its first year. The song reached #7 on the Billboard charts, #7 on the Smooth Jazz Network charts, and #1 on the Mediabase Smooth Jazz charts.
In 2021, Nathan was nominated for a second NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album for “Donny, Duke, & Wonder.” In 2022, his release “Love Languages” honored him with his third NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album.
Nathan’s career took a major leap into the eyes of mainstream music lovers all over the world following his 2023 “Rising Star” stellar performance at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City, Florida. His performance caught the attention of major festivals, as well as music lovers globally.
