Cody McCafferty is a young up-and-coming saxophonist/composer originating from the Central Florida area. Throughout a variety of ensembles such as his quartet, he looks to bring an innovative voice to his music while still honoring the tradition that came before him. He has performed and studied with many premier musicians such as the Smithsonian Jazz Ensemble, L.A. based musician Alex Hahn, saxophonist Jeff Rupert and trumpeter Scott Wilson. He was selected as a finalist for the 2022 Bob Washington Jazz Scholarship Competition and has performed at a variety of venues and festivals. While working simultaneously as a full time student at the University of Florida, he has on the books for the next few months a continuation of a quartet residency performance at the M.O.A.S. in Daytona Beach, a short early 2023 out of state tour and many more growth-focused opportunities for his ensembles.
