It was an evening of amazing jazz at the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts in Orlando Oct 30. Local jazz lovers packed the house for the final Chris Cortez and Friends Jam. It was a lively celebration of the friendship, innovation and community spirit of the Central Florida jazz community.
This was the final live performance from Blue Bamboo Co-Founder Chris Cortez. Due to health concerns, Chris is retiring from live performance with this final show. Chris and his wife and Co-Founder Melody Cortez have contributed immensely to the local jazz scene, building Blue Bamboo into a venue that has showcased talent from local stars to international artists since 2016.
Chris and Melody are relocating to California. Thanks to them both for a decade of incredible live music at the Blue Bamboo. They created and grew a fabulous venue for Central Florida to enjoy live jazz and fellowship with friends.
