Chef Darren Thompson Master Class at Miami Central Senior High School

HAPCO Health educator Chef Darren Thompson will be the Guest Chef of the Month at a master class on Thursday, Sept 25. As part of the NAF Academy of Culinary Arts program at Miami Central Senior High School, he will share techniques, nutrition and entrepreneurial experiences.

Chef Thompson’s culinary philosophy revolves around the belief that food should be both delicious and a celebration of culture and community. His passion for sourcing local and sustainable ingredients shines through in every dish he creates.

He is a descendant of Southern African American culture and Caribbean lineage. His culinary roots stem from the South of France to New Orleans. The combined cuisines of these regions shine through in his culinary creativity.

Thanks to Chef Yolanda Washington, Miami Central Senior High School, Sherryl King-Weathers, Community Stakeholder and Liaison for the Miami Central program, and Raymond J. Sands, Miami Central Principal for making this master class happen!
