Ocoee comes alive with the high energy sounds of bebop, funk and swing at this vibrant community celebration of jazz. Featuring live performances by:

  • Scott Wilson & the UF Jazz All Stars
  • Andrew Kennedy Quartet and
  • Ocoee High School Jazz Band

The Musicians

Musician, composer, producer and educator Scott Wilson is a powerhouse performer on piano, trumpet and the Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI). He is the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Florida. He has served as Musical Director for Universal Studios Japan, staff composer for Grand Link World in Qingdao, China and has been a featured jazz trumpet soloist for Tokyo Disney Sea. Performing with him are Dr. Alex Pershounin, bass; Clyde Connor, drums; Edward White, guitar; Noah Berdugo, sax; and Corey Burton, trombone.

Saxophonist and educator Andrew Kennedy has been a member and featured soloist in ensembles including The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Ever After Band, Encore, The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and The Orlando Jazz Orchestra. In 2015, he was a member of HAPCO LIVE’s first ensemble; he performed regularly in the community until he moved to New York City. Performing with him are Gerald Law II, drums; Brandon Miller, bass; and Collin Oliver, piano.

Bernie Hendricks Jr. directs the Ocoee High School bands program.
