Echoes Throughout Time, HAPCO Summer Jazz Band Camp, LIVE Performer, Jazz Clinics

HAPCO Educator Ricky Jackson loves to perform, entertain and teach. “Growing up, I’ve always wanted to give back to my community in an impactful manner. Through my life experiences I’ve come to realize that the gift of music can truly free a child’s mind and it’s a gift that they can freely give to others,” he said. A Miami native, he was born in Overtown, and raised throughout the metro area. He works to develop programs that give disadvantaged youth access to music and arts education. He is committed to showing young people the benefits and positive effects that music can have in their lives and the lives of their families and communities. For over 10 years, he has taught youth and in-service learning programs while working in the music industry as an engineer, performer and producer. He planned, arranged, wrote and directed music for weekly services at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Miami. He taught music lessons and music theory to underserved youth at Miami Music Ministries. He crafted music around video productions at Audio Castle Studios. He graduated from the Florida International University in 2007.
