Sing from Your Soul: Techniques to Enhance Your Performance Through Vocal Technique and Coaching

Students will learn how to use their voice as an instrument to tell a story. Dr. Duckins will show students how to analyze, connect, and perform a song through melody and lyrics. She will discuss song interpretation, vocal technique, and stage performance. Dr. Duckins believes in learning-by-doing. Therefore, her workshops will consist of both group and one-on-one instruction in which students showcase their music while receiving constructive feedback.

Dr. Melody Duckins has taught music and performed for more than 20 years nationwide and abroad. Dr. Duckins has experience in musical theater, jazz, and contemporary music. She earned her BA from Berklee College of Music, attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, earned her master’s in Education and Psychology, and Ed.D in Educational Leadership.  Dr. Duckins is also Florida Teacher Certified in Music K-12. Currently, she performs locally as well as the Director of the Beacon Voices at Beacon College.
