Great kick off to our Summer Jazz Camp … on Zoom. We’re still learning from each other and sharing our love for jazz! Lead Clinician Scott Wilson opened with a Jazz Theory and Fundamentals session. Wycliffe Gordon explained why a musician should always “sing it first.” Dr. Jose Valentino Ruiz discussed how to Discover Your Musical Identity. Guest Artist Lead Trumpet Mark Wood dropped by! The rhythm section students participated in a masterclass. Students got great resources and pointers for how to improve their skills throughout the day.
