Destini Hendricks began her dance career at the early age of three. It was not “Love at first Sight” as she also experimented with gymnastics but eventually found a comfort zone at the Joan Crawford School of Dance in Ocoee Fl. In her first National Competition at age 6, she surprised everyone by placing 6th overall. Upon Ms. Crawford’s retirement, Destini transitioned to the Shooting Stars School of Performing Arts in Clermont, a studio owned and operated by Ms.Crawford’s daughter Melissa Stokes. Under Ms. Melissa’s tutelage Destini has become an extremely talented dancer with a true passion to learn and inspire. Destini has won numerous regional and national titles over the past 7 years including Hall of Fame, Starpower, Nexstar, and Star Systems National titles. Destini has also won Dance Scholarships from The ASH Dance Convention as well as the Jump and the Wild dance conventions. She was also featured as the lead in the production of the Chocolate Nutcracker and is currently a model for the Dancewear Corner. This summer, she competed in the World Dance Pageant in New York and won the title of Teen Miss World Dance.
Amidst all of her dancing accolades and commitments, Destini also completed her middle school matriculation with a 4.0 GPA, making Straight A’s all 3 years of Middle School. She was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and the recipient of the Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award for Sun Ridge Middle School. Destini is currently a freshman at Ocoee High school where she is a member of the Student Government Association and the Knights Visual Ensemble. She is also an active volunteer in the youth ministry at Orlando World Outreach Center.
Destini’s future aspirations include a degree in business marketing or broadcast journalism as well as something on Broadway!
