Derrick Harris conducted a trombone master class at The Texas Supremacy of Music & Arts Conservatory in Dallas on Thursday, July 27 from 2:30-4 pm.
The Texas Supremacy of Music & Arts Conservatory (TSMAC) is a nonprofit founded by Will Allen, dedicated to providing world class music and dance education to all students. It works to provide education that implements impressionism and expressionism in every category under the Fine and Performing Arts umbrella with a focus on urban performing arts.
Harris is a Miami, Florida native with over 20 years of experience in the live music industry. He is the CEO of the Eighth Note Productions, LLC and an expert trombonist currently in the Dr. Phillips Jazz Orchestra.
As an instructor of Jazz Improvisation and Lower Brass Studies, Derrick’s dedication, passion and ambition is shown towards his students. He helps each pupil get better one note at a time by implementing good practice techniques, embouchure control, and the essentials of the trombone as an instrument.
